At Ascension Chess Academy, we strive to deliver exceptional chess lessons and a smooth user experience. We understand that there may be situations where a refund is required. This policy outlines the terms and procedures for requesting refunds.
1. Refund Eligibility
- Refund Period: Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the purchase date. This applies to all purchases, including trial lessons, single lessons, and subscriptions.
- Unused Lessons: Refunds are available for unused lessons. For subscriptions, the cost of any completed lessons will be deducted at the applicable single-lesson rate, and the remaining balance refunded.
For example: If you purchased an 8-lesson subscription for $319 and used 4 lessons, each lesson is valued at $42.50 (rate of the 4-lesson subscription). You will be refunded $319 – (4 x $42.50) = $149. - Dissatisfaction: If you are dissatisfied with a specific lesson due to poor instruction, unprofessional behavior, or other valid concerns, we may offer either a refund for that lesson or a free makeup lesson as a resolution.
2. Refund Exclusions
- Refunds are not issued for lessons that have already been conducted, except in cases of dissatisfaction as described above.
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are considered forfeited and are not eligible for a refund.
3. Refund Process

- Your full name.
- The email address used during checkout.
- The reason for the refund request.
- Details of the purchase (e.g., trial lesson, single lesson, or subscription).
Refunds will be processed within 10 business days of approval and will be issued to the original payment method.
4. Special Cases
Errors in billing, payment processing, instructor cancellations, or repeated unavailability may qualify for refunds or credits. These cases will be reviewed individually at the discretion of Ascension Chess Academy.
5. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
